Transformation of Armenian independent media through restructuring and reorganization
Context:
- Founded in 2021 in Yerevan, Armenia, AliqMedia.am emerged post-Second Nagorno-Karabakh War to address the need for an independent media platform. 
- Faced sustainability challenges early on, including financial struggles, declining audience reach, and inconsistent donor and social media management strategies. 
Key activities:
- Conducted an audit to leverage strengths and address weaknesses, developed a strategic plan for sustainable growth, and initiated a transformation focusing on organizational structure, finances, and audience engagement. 
- Restructured management, introduced new roles (marketing and business development managers), and optimized work processes for efficiency and growth. 
- Reorganized finances by streamlining the budget, cutting expenses, enhancing donor relationships, and initiating non-donor revenue streams, including launching reader revenue efforts. 
Results:
- Boosted YouTube views and subscribers by 374% and achieved a 194% growth in pageviews over three months, reaching historic audience engagement levels. 
- Secured $3k in private donations with an additional $25k pending, enhancing financial stability and donor engagement.
